Accountant

Accountant – Georgetown, Guyana

APAN Energy Services Inc. is seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team in Georgetown, Guyana.

The Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, statutory compliance, and maintenance of financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and reconcile daily financial transactions and maintain the General Ledger.

Prepare journal entries, client invoices, and bank and intercompany reconciliations.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities and preparation of financial statements.

Assist with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and variance analysis.

Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE, NIS, VAT, and Corporation Tax.

Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payments.

Support inventory reconciliation, fixed-asset tracking, payroll preparation, and audit requirements.

Maintain proper financial records, supporting documentation, and internal controls.

Support SAP/ERP process improvements and other finance-related activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

ACCA Part-qualified or equivalent would be an asset.

3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.

Experience with SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, or another accounting/ERP system.

Good working knowledge of IFRS and statutory financial reporting.

Experience with tax filings, payroll entries, and compliance reporting is desirable.

Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Experience in the energy, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based environment would be considered an advantage.
